Callahan Moots Biography
Callahan Moots is an Albuquerque, New Mexico based soundman who has worked for numerous national news outlets including NBC, CBS and ABC over the past ten years. He has professionally mixed audio in various field environments including breaking news, natural disasters, interview, documentary, corporate and major production studios. Callahan has worked with many DPs including his father – Emmy Award winning videographer Carey Moots.
Having graduated from the University of New Mexico acquiring a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in the fall of 2011, Callahan understands the dynamics of working in a freelance production business environment, as well as effectively communicating with business colleagues and associates in the news industry. Additionally, he holds professional memberships in the National Association of Broadcast Engineers and Technicians (NABET), as well as the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
Over the past 10 years, Callahan has developed a skillful level of experience operating a wide range of audio mixing/recording equipment, as well as proficiencies in lighting and grip work. He has gained experience mixing both recorded and live audio for many nationally accredited television shows including NBC Dateline, CBS 48 Hours, ABC 20/20, NBC Today Show and Nightly News.
